Intelligent internationalization: using research results to improve credit mobility at Mexican higher education institutions.

This chapter will present some evidence to support the affirmation that intelligent internationalization, a “thoughtful alliance between the research, practitioner and policy communities” (Rumbley, 2015, p. 17), is possible at the institutional level. It analyzes some of the most important results of a study (Bustos-Aguirre, 2018) on the factors that drive credit student mobility among Mexican higher education students and how those factors can be used to support policy making and strategy development aimed at increasing the number of students who study abroad at higher education institutions (HEI).
